The Willerby Pinehurst lodge is a new model for the 2016 season with thought given to the practicality of the layout.
On the side aspect is an entrance lobby with useful bench seating, lots of space for shoes, hooks for coats and a decent sized storage cupboard, as well as a cupboard for the boiler.
There’s a door to the hall and turn left into the open plan living with its panoramic windows, sliding patio door, freestanding sofas, flame-effect electric fire and optional bench seats at the window. This is complemented by a neat dining area with a free standing dining table and four faux leather chairs, all illuminated with a feature pendant light.
The kitchen takes up a large space, but does offer more than basic equipment with a gas fuelled double oven and grill as well as a four burner gas hob and a combination microwave oven. If you want casual dining then there’s a two-seat breakfast bar.
Moving on to the rear of the lodge, there are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. Each bedroom has king-size lift-up beds and fixed padded headboards; the main colour scheme in the bedrooms is cream with duck egg blue. The master bedroom benefits from a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite shower room with a quadrant shower, vanity unit with an inset basin and a water-saving dual flush WC.
The second bedroom has wardrobes and overhead storage too. You could have twin beds rather than a double bed.
The family bathroom has a plank effect floor, panel effect feature wall around the bath and overhead shower, concertina space saving shower door, dual flush WC, an inset washbasin set in a vanity unit and generous storage.
The exterior cladding is vinyl as standard, in beige, but options are available including timber, Canexel and environmentally friendly green.
VERDICT: As a two-bedroomed lodge it is remarkably spacious in the living area with perhaps a corresponding perceived lack of space in the bedrooms. Some of the features seen on this model were optional extras. It’s a calm and contemporary layout and colour scheme. The kitchen design could be improved if the drawer unit was under the hob and the toilet in the family bathroom was too near to the radiator.

You’ve made a mistake! The lodge we saw only had one lift up king size bed? And although you mentioned it has two king size beds you then went on to say you can have two single beds instead of the”double”.
Feel all front windows need heavy curtains as does the end of kitchen instead of Venetian blinds.
Thanks for your comments Barbara. The model we reviewed had two lift up king beds but we wanted to highlight that single beds are available if this is your preference. Different parks will showcase different configurations.
