Carnaby launches Silverdale static caravan range offering three popular floor plans for 2020
Carnaby has been around since 1976 and before this they were known as Apollo Caravans. Situated on an old WW2 airfield, Carnaby Industrial estate is home to a small factory which produces some very nice holiday caravans.
With modern interiors and exterior designs, Carnaby have always cut the cloth in their market and have had some very popular models over the years with names such as Crown and Ranchero. But for 2020, Silverdale is the name chosen for a three model line up of 12ft wide designs.
Priced at the mid-market sector the Carnaby Silverdale offers a holiday caravan buyer a first rate unit with years of experience behind its design.
The 38ft x12ft, two bedroomed model will be a popular choice. Its exterior is typical Carnaby – well built and designed and standard aluminium cladding, plus the usual all round guttering and drain pipes.
The lounge area in the Carnaby Silverdale is serviced by front French opening doors and comes with two sofas, plus an electric fire with log effect, a TV cabinet and side dresser. Deep windows add to the airy feel which also spreads through to the kitchen / dining area.
The dining area is in the kitchen but it doesn’t feel tight on floor area. There’s seating for four and the kitchen is finished in a smart charcoal on the cupboard doors.
You’ll find a fitted fridge freezer by the side entrance door, plus the kitchen has an oven/hob with extractor. There’s good storage and worktop space but a microwave is on the options list.
We did like the side shelves, which offer a neat, extra bit of storage as you walk to the bedrooms.
The Carnaby Silverdale has a twin bedroom with two good sized twin beds which also don’t take up much of the floor space, plus overhead cupboards. Mattresses offer good comfort and beds have upholstered headboards too.
The occupants also have a wardrobe which offers a decent amount of storage.
Opposite is the communal bathroom with a walk-in shower, loo and hand basin. It’s not overly large but remains practical and everybody will need to use that shower.
Carry through and you now come to the Silverdale’s master bedroom.
This is quite large and there’s plenty of wardrobe storage, plus a small dressing table, but no stool appears to be provided.
The bedroom also has a en-suite toilet, but no shower, which is a bit of a pity.
Overall though, the bedroom is spacious with a good-sized window for light and ventilation.

Verdict: The Carnaby Silverdale is a good quality and comfortable static caravan, with some nice design touches. We would have liked to have seen a microwave as standard and a galvanised chassis but overall it’s up to Carnaby’s usually high standards.
Plus points: Good lounge area, good sized bedrooms and bright interior
Minus points: No microwave as standard and would be good to have a shower in bedroom.
In a nutshell: A contemporary Carnaby with a bright open plan interior, perfect for entertaining all the family.
