The new Carnaby Langham static caravan has been well received and has set new standards
Back in 1976 Carnaby Caravans was a small static caravan maker in a very crowded market. To gain a foothold manufacturers had to work hard producing well-designed models and Carnaby has achieved a reputation of practical and well-made holiday caravans. Since then, names such as Trio and Ranchero and Crown have been instrumental in Carnaby becoming a major player in the holiday caravan market.
The new Carnaby Langham for 2022 enforces the brand’s strength and was launched at the return of the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC
There are two models one with a twin bedroom and a double but our review model has two double bedrooms with central lounge / dining / kitchen area.
The exterior of the Carnaby Langham is available in several finishes and colours plus optional extras, such as patio doors for the bedrooms. There’s also full guttering and downpipes and the uPVC windows are available in several colours. The chassis is galvanised and the drawbar can be fixed at either end of the static caravan.
The exterior does look good and we think most buyers will also go for the patio doors for both double bedrooms. Although there are a choice of colours when you order the Carnaby Langham, its standard twin grey colour really sets it off, with a classy feel.
The Carnaby Langham has two side doors – one which takes you into the superb central superb lounge, and the other into the kitchen dining area.
The centre lounge area is stunning, with its large L-shaped corner sofa and and four cushioned stools in a light cream colour.
The mock log burner and dark wood adds to the cosiness and overall ambience of the lounge. And with 7ft high walls and a vaulted ceiling you also get a feeling of space. To top off the luxurious styling, the Carnaby Langham has a rather posh drinks cabinet, Bluetooth speakers in the ceiling and integral LED lights and USB sockets. Now there’s no excuse for not entertaining!
Into the kitchen and dining area and the kitchen wows you as you walk in with its contemporary design and finish.
It’s also got excellent storage, brilliant lighting and comes with an electric fan assisted oven, externally vented cooker hoot, integrated dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. There are plenty of sockets and the dining area offers a sturdy table and four padded highback chairs. It’s all very smart, practical and few will want for much else.
The other feature of the Langham is the layout with two master bedroom suites – yes this really is a static caravan with two large double bedrooms.
The one behind the lounge offers a six-foot king-sized bed and plenty of storage with a large wardrobe, dresser and bedside cabinets. The beds also have storage too and each room has a panoramic window.
In fact the bedroom behind the kitchen is almost a mirror of the other except a different style headboard and a long mirror on one side of the bed. So no fighting over who has the best bedroom!
Both bedrooms in the Langham have an en-suite, which again carries on the five star feel with walk in shower, window, heated towel rail and a his and hers hand basin. It’s all tastefully executed, plus there are large mirrors, excellent drawer and shelf storage.
Zip and link bed technology means the bed in the second bedroom can be configured as a twin with two three-foot beds, for added flexibility.
Verdict: The new Carnaby Langham offers a well planned out and practical layout that will be popular with buyers. The lounge is super comfortable but you don’t have a very large side window opposite the patio doors. However, there is little to fault and we feel this is a holiday caravan that’s going to find favour with many.
Plus points: Brilliant kitchen, excellent master bedrooms, sumptuous lounge area
Minus points: No washing machine as standard, could do with a larger side window in lounge.
In a nutshell: The Carnaby Langham has to be seen if you’re in the market for a new holiday caravan. We think you’ll be as impressed as we were with the overall styling and build quality of this thoroughly modern static.
