Swift launch new value-for-money Loire holiday caravan range for 2022
Swift Group has been in the holiday caravan and lodge business 18 years now and in that time they’ve carved themselves a slice of this market sector.
Swift holiday caravans can be seen in numbers on many parks, such is their popularity. With a good range, including twin lodges Swift have all their ranges lined up to suit needs and budgets in this booming sector.
The new Loire is welcomed back into the Swift fold and it’s been given a sweeping new interior. Our review model had just been built and so we were keen to check it out.
The Swift Loire static caravan comes with a large front bay window which includes two top opening windows. Full guttering is included as well as a pantile clad roof. The exterior finish is in a new wood grain aluminium and the chassis is galvanised for a longer life and ideal on coastal parks. Plus, Swift use bonded side walls, as used in their touring caravans.
Inside, the modern approach has been the brief at Swift, for the Loire has L-shaped seating at the front of the lounge, creating the feeling space – plus, there’s a pull-out occasional bed.
Here’s there’s a large TV cabinet, almost covering the side wall, with twin drawers and a shelf and mirror above – although you’ll need to be rather tall to see your reflection – it’s more of a design feature!
There’s a coffee table in the lounge but you’ll note that no fireplace or fire is fitted. The Swift Loire’s apex ceilings have integral lighting and the open-plan lounge takes in the dinette. Designed to be family friendly it’s a fixed L-shaped seat with two cylinder shaped stools. Four can use it with comfort and a fifth person at a squeeze if needed.
The kitchen area opposite offers very good worktop space and cupboard storage. There are three plug sockets and also the kitchen comes with glass fronted oven with four gas burners and spark ignition. There’s also an extractor hood above the hob and the Swift Loire’s kitchen has a built-in microwave plus an integrated fridge/freezer. It’s all very practical.
Walking through into the sleeping are of the Swift Loire, the twin room offers good beds for children but could be a bit small for adult use.
Storage is by way of two overhead cupboards and a shelf, plus, there’s a wardrobe large enough for two. Other extras include a TV point and socket and exclusive to Swift, Duvalay mattresses.
The main bathroom opposite, comes with a shower, loo and hand basin, plus a radiator. It’s all very basic and there isn’t much storage – just a wall cupboard.
The main bedroom comes with double bed of course, plus a dressing table and large wardrobe, plus overhead storage above the bed and two bedside shelves. It’s not overly spacious but it doesn’t feel enclosed either.
There’s a small en-suite with a loo, hand basin, mirror and shelf storage.
Verdict: The Swift Loire offers a good base holiday caravan for a first-time owner or as an upgrade from an older unit. It has a spacious lounge area and even without front patio doors, it feels very bright and airy.
Plus points: Spacious lounge area with L -haped seating, practical kitchen, modern interior and family appeal, 10 ft width model available.
Minus points: Electric fire is an option, the main bedroom is not very spacious, only two opening small windows in the lounge area.
In a nutshell: A functional and bright static caravan that’s ideal for first time owners. It’s got most of the essentials, though we feel an electric fire should be standard a fit.
