A big splash of colour makes sure the new Regal Hemsworth static caravan grabs attention.
It’s a rich teal shade – and there’s an entire wall of it. This stunning hue is one of two colour themes that runs throughout the Hemsworth. The other is also a rich colour; this time a plum shade, for a luxury tactile fabric that teams beautifully with the signature teal colour.
Let’s take a look inside the all-new Regal Hemsworth static caravan:
While colour plays a big part in making sure the Regal Hemsworth is a holiday caravan that will get noticed, it’s the kitchen that defines the Hemsworth as being totally different to any other static caravan. Not just because it is here that you find the entire wall finished in the bold teal shade. It’s because, whereas most holiday caravan kitchens conform to a U-shape, at one side, this one spans the whole of the central area.
On one side is the cooking area and, on the other, the washing-up department. It’s a kitchen clearly designed for keen cooks – and for buyers who envisage the kitchen-dining area as the hub of the caravan the dining suite integrates with the kitchen.
The cooking zone houses the four-burner hob, oven-grill and microwave, plus two areas of work surface, and the fridge-freezer. The washing-up zone is opposite, forming an L-shape, with more work surface, the sink, and, if you go for the optional dishwasher and washing machine, they are installed in this area too.
A total of five cupboards, three drawers and three top lockers above the cooking area make sure the Regal Hemsworth’s kitchen can safely be described as offering well above average storage capacity.
Style excels here, too, with a mix of plain modern design in the form of matt fawn cabinetry with simple steel bar handles, and a touch of rustic styling, for the dining table and the cabinet sides, plus the top locker doors. While it’s rustic in character, the woodwork is also pale, which enhances the Regal Hemsworth’s spacious look. It’s a 40ft x 13ft holiday caravan but, thanks to the kitchen layout, it feels much wider.
There is another element of the Regal Hemsworth that makes it outstanding. That’s the brise soleil that sits between the kitchen and the lounge. This stunning feature is composed of vertically aligned wooden spars with two shapes integrated, one square, the other rectangular, that form shelves.
The brise soleil idea is one element that made the original Hemsworth a stunning holiday caravan, and it’s been retained in the new interior design. The first Hemsworth was unveiled shortly after Regal Leisure Homes became part of the Omar Group. Now, the new Regal Hemsworth, unveiled for 2023, is set to prove even more popular thanks to its magnificent kitchen.
The brise soleil’s function – apart from being a stunning design feature – is to create a very separate feel for both the kitchen dining area and the lounge.
The lounge has a luxuriously cosy aspect, created by its big L-shaped sofa with four cushions and a bolster armrest, plus a neat armchair, opposite.
The armchair introduces the second of the Hemsworth’s signature colours: the plum shade, also used for one side of the cushions (the other side matching the curtains and the kitchen’s Roman-style blind). This fabric brings in a lovely natural country look; leaves and a few little birds sitting on twigs, in a white design outlined in dark grey against a subtle green background.
A shade that tones closely with this background hue is used for the dining chair upholstery, this time in tactile, luxury fabric.
We had entered the Regal Hemsworth static caravan through the big patio doors, and stepped straight into the comfortable ambience of the lounge. We could, though, have entered directly into the dining kitchen.
Here, there’s an upholstered bench seat on which to perch to unlace or lace up your walking boots. Three coat hooks are above the seat and there are shelves for boots and hats, too.
The luxury appeal of the Regal Hemsworth continues in the bedrooms. The tactile plum fabric plays its part, for bedheads, and the layout of the main bedroom makes sure luxury arrives in the form of facilities.
Doors open on each side of the bed. One leads to the en-suite shower room and the other to a walk-in wardrobe, where there are two areas for hanging clothes, plus a large amount of shelving.
More clothing accommodation is in the wide dressing table that has five drawers. This is a bedroom that cocoons you in relaxing and preening luxury, with an upholstered dressing table stool and a huge circular mirror mounted on a wall of the Hemsworth’s fabulous signature teal shade that also finishes the bedhead wall in both bedrooms.
Our review model is the 40ft x 13ft Regal Hemsworth. Four other floorplans are available: a 36ft x 12ft unit with two bedrooms; a 40ft x 12ft with two bedrooms; a 40ft x 13ft with a central lounge and bedrooms at each end, and a 40ft x 13ft version with three bedrooms.
Verdict: The enormity of the kitchen is sure to sell the new Regal Hemsworth to holiday caravan buyers for whom the whole process of meals is a key part of their leisure lifestyle. There’s plenty of food prep space, plenty of storage space – and a lovely ambience, with the table in the centre.
The partition between the kitchen and the lounge gives both areas a separate-room feel – and is a major design feature of this lovely holiday caravan.
Its statement colours of bold teal and rich plum also play a major part in making the Regal Hemsworth outstandingly different.
Plus points: The generous size of the kitchen. The separate-room feel created by the feature partition. The boot seat and coat hooks by the door
Minus points: None
