Styling inspired by farmhouse and elegant country mansion influences give the Atlas Debonair Lodge an elegant character.
As you step inside through the patio door from your decking, roll-back, studded, upholstered dining chairs are your first clue to the luxury ethos of this holiday lodge.
A tall cabinet with glass front and sides, and drawers beneath the display shelving, sits alongside. Is it farmhouse style? Is it elegant country house style? Actually, it’s both. And it’s outstanding.
The enormous Belfast sink and tap fitments of traditional ceramic design make sure the farmhouse influence is strong in the dining-kitchen area of the lodge.
Shaker-style drawer and cabinet handles, woodwork that has a mildly distressed styling, and a huge Cookmaster range cooker make you question, by this stage in your exploration, whether you are in a holiday lodge or a farmhouse!
The range cooker has two ovens and a grill – and five burners with so much space between them that any size of pan could be used.
There’s a vast amount of work surface too, and it makes its contribution to the décor in a subtle way; it’s dark grey, with a suggestion of a pattern inspired by rock. The same finish is used for the wall behind the cooker. By contrast, the breakfast bar surface is a pale marble effect.
Underneath the breakfast bar, the freezer and fridge are side-by-side. On the other side of the breakfast bar are two farmhouse-style bar chairs.
A Tartan-inspired weave for the wool-blend cushions and curtains make a country-luxury statement, and the cottage-style ‘stove’, set into a fireplace. made from the same semi-distressed wood as the kitchen cabinets. enhances the country look of the Atlas Debonair holiday lodge.
A traditional sideboard, matching the display cabinet in style, sits against a wall clad in vertical natural wood panels. And the icing on a very stylish cake are the pendant lights. The light above the lounge is made from converging circles and ovals in black metal surrounding three candle-style bulbs.
Over the breakfast bar, the lighting style shifts to industrial, in the form of a black, two-lamp unit suspended on two black cables. And over the dining table is a simple black conical shade.
A door leads from the Atlas Debonair’s kitchen to the entrance porch, with four coat hooks, a bench for footwear and a cabinet containing the optional washing machine, as well as a cupboard beside it, plus large wall cabinets above. Call it a semi-utility room if you like, it’s a very practical room because it closes off from the kitchen, so is perfect for sorting out muddy dog paws before they have a chance to escape into the living area!
Along the corridor we find a shower room with a tall chrome towel warmer and at the back of the Atlas Debonair lodge is a large twin-bedded room.
Natural wood clads the bedhead wall and tartan upholsters the bedhead and also appears in the curtains and bed runners. A double-doored wardrobe, plus a four-shelf unit will hide away plenty of apparel.
The main bedroom shares the tartan and natural wood styling and has a large dressing table with a walk-in wardrobe opposite.
The en-suite contains a bath with a shower above.
Verdict: Strong country character created by a mix of fabric, wood and marble gives the Atlas Debonair holiday lodge standout appeal. It’s cosy, it’s luxurious, and it’s stacked with interior design features that come together to give it its country mansion character.
We love the range cooker, the Belfast sink and the large breakfast bar. And we love the spacious feel everywhere, including in the entrance utility/porch area.
