The holiday caravan and lodge industry in the UK is seemingly ever-growing with new names appearing regularly. Beverley Leisure Homes under David Hall has grown steadily and with a new factory extension they’re geared up to meet park owners and customers’ requirements.
It’s also worth noting that its factory also runs on solar power as they strive to implement environmentally friendly technology and practices.
Here we review the 36ft x 12ft Norwood Twelve two-bedroomed lodge, which is also available as a three-bedroomed layout.
The Beverley Norwood’s exterior cladding comes with a choice of colours at no extra cost, and our review model looked great in the afternoon sun.
Full guttering and patio sliding front doors are all standard fit of course and LED lighting posts are placed under the front overhang as well as an up-and-down LED light beside the side door.
Step inside the Beverley Norwood Twelve holiday lodge and it’s very smartly appointed, with two twin-seat sofas in grey and a central wall-mounted electric fire for chilly evenings with a TV mounting above.
Below you’ll find two cupboards and a cubby hole for TV boxes or games consoles, or any other nik naks.
The ceiling is vaulted with integral LED lights and three large side windows offer plenty of ventilation and allow more light to flood into the Norwood’s already bright interior.
The dining area is placed opposite the kitchen and at the back of the lounge but is rather compact with a single leg table and four oak chairs.
Behind one of the lounge sofas is a partition wall to separate off the U-shaped kitchen. It’s a well-designed and practical area with excellent worktop space, finished in a light oak effect, which contrasts beautifully with the dark grey cupboards and sink.
A larder style fridge/freezer, integrated microwave and four burner hob with extractor fan cater for all your culinary needs. We liked the colour scheme as well as the plentiful storage provided. Antique gold finished plug sockets added the finishing design touches to this classy looking kitchen area.
As you walk through to the back of the Beverley Norwood holiday lodge, the communal bathroom is on the right, opposite the twin bedroom.
The bathroom features a walk-in shower and a sleek looking hand basin with cupboard storage below.
The bathroom also has a good-sized window for ventilation and natural light. There’s also plenty of floor area for changing and the white colour scheme contrasts nicely with the dark flowing and heated towel rail and allows owners to add their own pop of colour with towels etc.
In the twin bedroom, the beds will serve well for adults as well as children. There’s a large wardrobe and wooden shelving over the twin beds. Wall cupboards would have added extra storage for items not ideally stored in the wardrobe.
Walking into the Norwood’s master bedroom it feels spacious and the colours are all very modern. A large, deep, side window adds to the airy feel of the room and the décor is simple but effective. A light wood finish is used on the bedside cupboards and for the shelf above the bed, which also includes two integral LED lights for nighttime reading etc.
There’s a handy, large wall mirror fitted but no dressing table. However, a wardrobe with drawers beneath should provide enough storage for two.
The Norwood’s master bedroom also has an en-suite in a similar colour scheme to the main bathroom, which has a loo and hand basin but no shower.
Verdict: The Beverley Norwood Twelve holiday lodge is solid and well-made, with a decent specification included in the price and a well-planned layout. This shows that a smaller manufacturer can hold its own against the larger rivals.
Plus points: Large front lounge, excellent build quality, pleasing décor, good backup service
Minus points: No dressing table in the master bedroom, no overhead cupboards in the twin bedroom
