Love Holiday Homes might still be considered a new kid on the block but they’re growing at a steady pace
The manufacturer is adding new models to its portfolio.
One of their latest 2024 new models is the Love Holiday Homes Whinfell range of well-appointed lodges.
Here we review the 41ft x 14ft two bedroomed Whinfell holiday lodge which we think could become a top choice out of the four layouts (two are 13ft wide models). It has a typical lodge design and comes on a galvanised chassis with front patio doors and LED lighting in the front exterior overhang.
Several exterior choices are available but the 14ft wide Whinfell is built to a residential standard and the 13ft wide models have holiday home specifications.
Walk into the Love Homes Whinfell holiday lodge and you’ll find a spacious front lounge with a light wood finish and soft furnishings to match.
Twin settees in neutral colours are arranged around a large electric fire, with drawers beneath, as well as a TV cabinet and free-standing coffee table.
Two large side windows allow in plenty of natural light and integrated LED ceiling lighting means night illumination is well taken care of too.
The lounge is open plan and runs nicely into the dining/kitchen area. The dining area has four padded chairs and a good sturdy table with a stylish pendant light above for cosy nights in.
The Whinfell kitchen is L-shaped and provides a good run of worktop as well as cupboard storage. It’s smartly finished in a dark grey and comes with an integrated microwave oven, gas hob with separate electric oven.
The kitchen also boasts a full-sized dishwasher and near the side entrance door an integrated fridge freezer is fitted. It’s a practical and modern design overall and a pleasing place to be for cooking and eating meals.
A small corridor leads to the bedrooms and washrooms. First up is the twin bedroom opposite the main bathroom.
Here there are two full-sized single beds plus a bedside cabinet and cupboards above. The beds are arranged in an L shape and this allows a good amount of space for changing.
There’s a small wardrobe and several mains sockets. It’s an ideal bedroom for children but adults too will find this room spacious enough too.
The main bathroom is opposite the twin bedroom next to a storage cupboard. Here the designers have placed the loo centrally as you walk in, with the shower fitted with sliding doors to the left.
There’s a sink with a cupboard and shelves fitted below. The light wood colour scheme is carried on from the lounge and bedrooms and a chrome radiator is fitted – ideal for towel drying.
The Whinfell’s master bedroom has a king-sized bed and two double-doored built-in wardrobes with drawers beneath.
There’s no shortage of storage here but if you’re left wanting more the bed lifts to reveal more space for bedding and bags.
There are two handy bedside cabinets and over the bed is a wall-mounted cupboard complete with two central shelves.
A dresser unit with three drawers and a padded stool takes care of getting ready for the day and there’s another storage cabinet above.
There’s plenty of floor space in the master bedroom and there’s an en-suite neatly placed on the left as you enter. It comes with a spacious corner shower cubicle a free-standing hand basin on top of a cupboard. The loo is next to the shower cubicle and a window allows for good ventilation.
Verdict: We loved this lodge, particularly the modern colour scheme and the kitchen layout. A great lounge area and two good-sized bedrooms are other good features
Plus points: Solid build, modern but not flashy colour schemes used
Minus points: No washing machine in an otherwise well-specified kitchen
In a nutshell: The Whinfell lodge is a pleasant place to be and we can see why Love Homes are doing well.
