Aimed straightforwardly at the family market, and in particular, buyers with modern décor tastes, the new Willerby Buxton static caravan has chic styling in spades.
We take a look inside this two-bedroomed holiday caravan, which sleeps six:
Individual style elements that catch eyes first are the use of pale wood with a prominent grain, and sage green cabinet doors. It’s different. It’s fresh. And it’s well designed for family harmony. This is how. The seating is L-shaped, and, importantly, with a large stool that sits at one end of the sofa, making it into a U-shape – or you can move it anywhere else in the lounge.
The coffee table unit is a brilliant design, with two cube stools that sit underneath sections on each side. They’re upholstered in bright orange velvet, creating a pop of colour amid the subtle green tones.
Black ingredients in the décor create a super-smart look. These are the curtain poles and the frames of the dining chairs and table, plus simple bar cabinet handles on the kitchen. The sink and drainer are also black, which means that staining is unlikely.
The kitchen units form a U-shape, with three separate surface areas. Four cabinets and three drawers, plus four wall cabinets, add up to enough storage capacity to suit most families’ needs.
Kitchen equipment includes an extractor above the four-burner hob. The fridge-freezer sits at the opposite side of the holiday caravan to the main kitchen area, next to the dining suite. An integrated microwave is an optional extra.
A tall white radiator alongside the television wall adds style, as does the pale, natural wood-effect panel behind the TV position.
We had started our exploration of the Willerby Buxton in the all-important living area, stepping in through the sliding doors from the front decking. Now, by the side door, we perch on a wide seat above which are five double coat hooks and below; ample space for all the family’s footwear and more. Two shelves ideally positioned for keys are beside the door, and there’s a black-edged rectangular mirror above it.
The delightfully subtle sage green shade of the kitchen cabinet doors is used in the bedrooms, too.
In the Willerby Buxton’s main bedroom, it features on the double wardrobe and three drawers, plus overhead and bedside cabinets. The dressing table, with a rim of light around its circular mirror, has seven shelves plus one above the mirror. Television points are adjacent. A cube stool is upholstered in beige velvet.
The en suite shower room has a towel warmer, a wall cabinet and an extractor fan.
The bathroom has similar styling, and has an over-bath shower.
Verdict: If you are looking for crisp modern styling in a holiday caravan that’s tailored towards value, yet with a luxury feel, you have probably found it in the new Willerby Buxton.
The positioning of the dining table opposite the kitchen is a feature found in many holiday caravans because it works really well.
We love the versatility of the freestanding upholstered section of the sofa that can be moved to anywhere in the lounge. And the design of the coffee table that houses two gorgeous orange velvet upholstered stools is awesome.
