Many static caravanners have owned their unit for a good number of years, so is it time for a newer model?
In this month’s community poll, we’d like to know if you’ve upgraded to a newer holiday caravan or lodge in the last 12 months. Maybe you’ve bought or are considering buying a pre-owned holiday caravan that is newer than yours, or you’ve gone all out and bought a brand new model?
Simply vote in our new poll by selecting one of the options below. And if you have bought a newer holiday caravan we’d love to hear about it in the comments box below.
Willerby manor best caravan out there
If it was made by any thing to do with Coachman then never ever never!!!!! Worst caravan I have ever owned.. leaves, cracked roof, leaking central heating, faulty windows. Thorough disgrace. Should br ashamed of themselves.
Hi John, sorry to hear this. I don’t believe Coachman manufacture static caravans? I hope you manage to get your issues resolved with Coachman

Bought a 20 year old Willerby Granada 18 months ago to see how we got on. May consider upgrade next year but probably not at same site.
Just upgraded to a 2022 ABI Beaumont from a 2012 Willerby Winchester
Caravan longevity depends on many factors, but some Site Owners stipulate a maximum period that the caravan is permitted to remain on site irrespective of how well it has been maintained. However, in the current financial climate I cannot see too may people spending the large amounts of money to purchase new caravans! Hence, many owners are facing difficult decisions over the next 12 months when the situation could deteriorate further.
Exactly,we have 18 year max so next year its either change or quit.Caravan immaculate as well, even better than some newer models on site and more modern in design as it was a high spec back when new.
Disappointing so with fees going up and having to upgrade a lot of people might have to give up their pride and joy.
That’s a real shame.
Can you not move your caravan to another site? Would be more cost effective.
We have a 15 year contract on ours which started 5 years ago, but on our site they don’t stipulate the age of the caravans, so as long as we look after it we’re ok.
We only get 15 yrs on site with a New Van therefore we would be stupid to upgrade it is out of reach for ordinary people particularly as are fees are well over £4.000
When we bought our caravan our site told us we could keep ours indefinitely, as long as it was still tidy, but due to increased demand caused by the pandemic we were told our 15 year lease wouldn’t be renewed. My only consolation is that we sold it to a lovely family who took it to their very picturesque site in Shropshire.
