Touches of coast-inspired interior design are far from uncommon in static caravans. In the Victory Lochwood, though, the seaside vibe is as strong as we’ve seen anywhere – and it’s delightful.

Several design elements combine to give the 2024 Lochwood its coastal theme. The most obvious is the blue and white striped curtains, reminiscent of traditional deckchair fabric.
Shades of blue and pale sand are cleverly used in the cabinetry, and also in the feature wall coverings. Dark blue doors are on the cabinet opposite the sofas and the wall behind the television. The surface above the cabinets (the natural place for a television) looks rather like driftwood after it has been battered by waves and left to dry on a beach; clever!
And the wall into which the log-effect fire is set is clad in pale woodwork with a prominent grain; again, without using much imagination, you can see it’s driftwood-inspired.
The same type of wood is used to great effect alongside the dining table, this time in the form of vertically aligned planks, and the surface in between them is finished in cream wallpaper with a very slight sparkle: think pale sand with bits of quartz that glint in the sunshine and you’re pretty near.
The Victory Lochwood’s layout is 100% designed for families. The dining table seats six; a bench is against the wall and three Scandinavian-style, white, wipe-clean chairs are on the other side of the table.
The dining table styling is simple, with hairpin legs (three black metal sections converging at floor level on each corner) and a pale wood top, again driftwood inspired.
And this area hides a secret storage place: three drawers are set into the bench seating area. You’d have to move the table to get at them, but that’s not difficult, and there’s plenty of space to do that.
In the lounge, the comfort of the amply sized L-shaped sofa is enhanced by three large bolster cushions plus square cushions; again, very family oriented.
It’s a linear kitchen in the Victory Lochwood static caravan and it’s also clearly designed with families in mind. Two or more could help with the food prep tasks here, because there are three separate areas of surface.
The fridge – complete with a four-bottle wine rack – and the freezer beneath it, are on the fore end of the kitchen. The central heating unit, with storage space below it, is on the aft end. In between the two are a stylish black sink, a five-burner hob, an oven and a microwave.
Storage comes in the form of a range of upper cabinets plus four drawers and four cabinets. Here again, the deep blue and reclaimed driftwood styling looks lovely. Options include a dishwasher or washing machine; if you don’t choose to have one, you gain a cupboard.
The main bedroom has deckchair stripe fabric curtains, a bed runner and cushions – and delightfully pale woodwork. The dressing table has simple-style, black hairpin legs, a circular black framed mirror and a cube upholstered stool.
The en-suite shower room is stylishly appointed with a mid-grey shower area wallcovering, a tall black towel warmer and an under-basin cabinet with a large drawer and a shelf for towels.
The family bathroom has identical styling to the en-suite.
The twin bedroom gets the deckchair fabric touch, in the form of bold blue and white curtains, bed runners and cushions.
Verdict: Linear kitchens are a rarity in static caravans, yet this configuration works really well. Importantly, this layout keeps the kitchen function separate from the lounge and dining zone, and also creates one long area in which family members can share the kitchen work; all part of holiday conviviality.
The six-seater dining suite is great for flexibility; you could move a couple of the chairs from here into the lounge on occasions when you need them. And the seaside-inspired styling creates a charming holiday atmosphere.
Plus points:
- Six seat dining capability.
- A long kitchen with three areas of surface.
- Three drawers hidden under the dining area bench.
Minus points: Floorspace in the bedrooms isn’t generous.
In a nutshell: The seaside styling gives the Victory Lochwood the perfect holiday vibe. And its family-orientated layout is well designed for holiday harmony.
