  1. Piped gas is so much easier and no running out of gas and not having to switch over bottle.

  2. Finding gas cylinders vary in price and don’t seem to be as efficient as piped gas. Although I’m informed by our park the piped gas is from a large storage facility on the park. Gas cylinder hob burners aren’t as controllable as piped gas apparently (not good at simmering, not able to lower heat enough). Now have electric portable combi oven. Much better!!

  3. We have piped gas in both our lodges and this makes it easier to keep an eye on usage through meter and don’t have to worry about running out of gas and changing bottles

  4. Newer part of site we are on has central gas containers, filled by lorry delivery, which feeds about 30 units. Very convenient and seems to be good value.

  5. Find it ok, we always have two bottles so it only takes a minute to change a bottle, think it’s probably dearer than piped gas

  6. There’s definitely a move to piped gas, fed from a central storage tank. However they tend to be only available on newer or redeveloped sites.

  7. Gas cylinders work fine for me,the park is for Holidays only.
Lots of fire regs required if a tank supply.
I used to be an LPG engineer primarily Caravans nd Boats.

  8. I had bottles for years at my old park. My current park is piped. No question, piped wins 100%. Cheaper, far more convenient and doesn’t run out. What’s not to like?

    1. Hi Mike, I was just wondering how much the piped gas is per unit. We are new to lodge living so a bit confused with costs. Thanks

  9. We have piped gas, and wouldn’t have purchased our van if it was gas due to living in it. Personal choice.
