The new flagship from Prestige, the Phoenix park home, will blow you away with its sheer size and its mansion-like character.
The entrance hall greets you with a huge a backlit mirror set in a recess. Then the kitchen-dining area impresses you with its enormity and its dramatic look.
Taking inspiration, we think, from magnificent mansion ideals and brought right up to date, the kitchen is huge, with cabinets on each side of a central vast island unit, at one end of which are two upholstered bar chairs.
The sink is rimlessly recessed into the marble unit, and, set into the island unit, is a wireless charging unit. Cupboards on one side are matt white and, on the other side, the base units are dark wood.
Equipment includes a wine cooler, and a huge Bosch tilt-to-use extractor fan over the induction hob. A washing machine and dishwasher are set within the island unit and an oven and microwave (both made by Bosch) are integrated into the white units, as is the fridge-freezer. Nine cabinets and nine drawers give you more storage space than you’d ever want.
The dining table is circular and has six chairs upholstered in brown leather with a diamond stitched pattern; very luxurious in looks and clearly created for comfort.
The mansion image is emphasised by a chandelier composed of scores of tiny glass pencil shapes, the outer layer connected to a brass-effect ring and the inner layer suspended from a circle, enabling the ‘pencils’ to flutter in response to the breeze that can flow into the room from the windows near the table and from the floor-to-ceiling window that creates an entrance at the other end of the kitchen.
Two wall lights in the dining area are of the same stunning construction, this time semi-circular.
Above the island unit, three clear glass shades hang from brass holders and contain filament bulbs, all suspended from simple black cables.
Double doors lead from the dining area into the lounge and, by this time during our exploration of the Prestige Phoenix park home, we’re doubly sure we’re in park home modern mansion land!
There’s a feature here that is stunningly opulent. This is a glass-encased, log-effect fire, with glass pebbles of various sizes that gleam like jewels in the sunlight. Together with the enormous television, the ‘fire’ is set into a white frame.
And there’s more to amaze you in this fabulous lounge. At one end of the room the opulent style is mixed with practicality, in the form of a mini study. It’s a desk with a cube-shaped, velvet-upholstered stool. The clever bit is that the desk area has doors that close it off completely, or retract into the sides of the desk area when open. On each side is a double-doored cabinet with shelves, each with concealed lighting running at the back.
The central coffee table and smaller lamp table look like a cross between burnished copper and wood, beautifully styled, simple in design, but with a finish that’s most definitely adhering to the mansion house image.
The exceptional height of the vaulted ceiling contributes to the Phoenix’s mansion house appeal and nowhere is this more evident than in the hallway and corridor that leads to the bed and bathroom zone.
And, when you reach the bathroom, the luxury dial is turned up to maximum with a double-sized bath set into a raised area. You take two steps up and then step down into the huge bath.
Rock-effect tiling runs half-way up the walls all the way around the room. Brass mounted wall lights are on each side of the circular over-basin mirror and the taps of both the basin and bath are brass-effect. This is truly a vision of bathroom ultra-opulence.
Opposite, the second bedroom also has luxury in spades, this time created by a tall, sculpted bedhead edged in brass studs. Panelled doors to wardrobes, and an arch-topped mirror with a simple, neat brass frame in the dressing table recess complete the look.
As you enter the master bedroom suite, the opulence steps up several gears. A tall bedhead created from velvet-upholstered panels, and a bay window to increase the feeling of space make this a delightful room.
Then as you explore the dressing room, off the main bedroom, the palatial feel is even more evident. This room is as large as many a bedroom. It has an L-shaped dressing table, copious drawers, shelves and three wardrobes, each with two hanging rails, one above the other.
In the centre of the room sits a huge, circular, deeply buttoned, velvet-upholstered stool. The dressing table also has a stool, this time cylindrical, and also upholstered in velvet.
