What better way to relax outside your static caravan or lodge than with some outdoor seating? Whether it be making the most of the sunny weather, reading a book, or dining al fresco, outdoor door seating is a must-have for many holiday caravan owners.
Last month we asked static caravan owners if they had outdoor seating, and if so, what kind. After hundreds of votes, we can now bring you the results…
The outdoor seating poll results…
A huge 99 per cent of voters told us they had some kind of outdoor seating at their static caravan or lodge! Dining chairs took the top spot – gaining almost a quarter of the votes (23 per cent).
But folding chairs and sun loungers were also a popular choice with owners, coming in second place, with 22 per cent of the votes.
Fifteen per cent of voters told us they had an outdoor sofa and chairs – perfect for chilling out on a verandah or decking! And nine per cent had some kind of bench seating.
Only four per cent of voters had a bench which doubled up as storage and only one per cent had a hanging chair or chair swing.
Your comments…
It was great to hear about the different types of outdoor seating used and how important relaxing outside is to many static caravanners. Many owners clearly invest lots in making their outdoor space comfortable and stylish!
Linda Day told us that she has a big wooden deck – designed to make the most of the weather.
“We can seat 20 people comfortably so it’s always party time at ours!” she added.
Rattan furniture seems like a popular choice with some holiday caravanners. Colin Porter has a full suite of rattan furniture, complete with showerproof cushions and a small table and Michael Davies said he has a four-seater rattan dining set with two companion chairs, footstool and table.
But Alicia Cawley commented that rattan furniture can be a problem if you’re holiday caravan is by the sea. After lots of research, she bought plastic seating by Keter.
“Fantastic furniture worth paying a little extra for, we thoroughly recommend them,” she added.
Susan Oultram has invested in two folding bamboo safari chairs, along with a folding butler’s tray and Japanese parasol – very swish!
And Sheila told us she has a folding bistro table and chairs in the same colour as the caravan.
“Topped with a plant, sitting on the decking, watching the sea, is a real treat,” she added.
Thanks to everyone who voted and don’t forget to make sure you add your outdoor furniture on to the sums insured of your static caravan insurance.
I always find your polls very interesting and I was wondering if you would consider doing a poll about recycling facilities been available on sites and if so do people use them or would they use them if they were available.
Thank you
