Even though you can’t be at your park right now, in our last poll we asked if your holiday park had recycling facilities and if you used them. Here are the results…
After hundreds of votes, it was great to see that more than half of those who voted were on a park where there were outdoor recycling bins, with 56 percent saying they used these facilities.
Sadly, 39 per cent of voters told us that their park doesn’t have any facilities to recycle waste.
Just two per cent had indoor and outdoor recycling bins, which they used, and only one per cent used indoor recycling only.
Your park recycling comments
Thanks to those who told us more about their park’s efforts to encourage recycling. Looking at the comments it seems many parks offer glass recycling but not for food waste – but where there are no park facilities, many holiday caravanners take their recyclable waste to nearby waste centres.
However, Kenneth Skitt told us that his holiday park, Patch Caravan Park, takes environmental issues very seriously.
“To start with we are a sight of special scientific interest and help to protect all wildlife, and we have several large bins for recycling,” he commented.
Stuart Walker said Woodland Holiday Park in Norfolk also had plenty of recycling bins as does Bryn Bach Caravan Park, in Abersoch, according to Ally Denton.
Both David Hall and Jane Rowland told us that their parks don’t have recycling facilities but they take their recyclable waste to a nearby recycling centre. Or Jane takes it home.
Ian Bailey said Green Meadow Park at Oxwich had recycling bins for glass and tins and G S Kestle said there was a lack of food waste recycling at their park.
