Although 2021 hasn’t got off to the best start, with many owners unable to visit their holiday caravan, it’s a great time to start planning what new things you might buy for your pride and joy.
Last month we asked owners what their next big purchase would be for their holiday caravan and after hundreds of votes, the results of the big spenders are now in!
The results…
It was no surprise to see outdoor furniture topping the list, with almost a quarter of the votes – the perfect accessory to enjoy your outside space when on holiday.
Three items shared second place with 13 per cent of the votes. These were new carpets or flooring, decking and a storage shed.
Caravan skirting has lots of benefits and took fifth place, and reupholstering furniture gained a five per cent share of the votes.
Also making the top 10 were new windows, then a multitude of accessories and new tech, including an outdoor heater, a new TV, washing machine, barbeque, lighting, microwave, surround sound system, and portable speaker.
Your big buy comments…
Thanks to everyone who commented. Many of you mentioned things that weren’t on our shopping list, such as new curtains and blinds, the Floe drain down system, a gas hob, a new cooker, and a new shower.
And caravan newcomer Ken Moore plans to buy a dishwasher this year: “After experiencing our first year of static home luxury and the ‘joy’ of washing up together (team building! ) we’ve decided to add a dishwasher for 2021,” he commented. “Can’t wait!”
Clare plans to replace her net curtains with blinds and Beverley told us she’ll be updating some of the light fittings and replacing a radiator in the bathroom with a heated towel rail.
Pat Hanby wants to buy a new cooker and shower for her second-hand caravan as the existing ones aren’t working properly.
It was great to hear about your 2021 spending plans. Look out for guides on some of these items later this year on our news blog and we hope you’ll be able to enjoy lots of stays in your static caravans this spring and summer when travel and Coronavirus lockdown restrictions are lifted.
